I believe there are moments in your life that you can later look back on and say “that’s the moment that I decided to change for the better”. As I start my journey to get fit, I can think of multiple moments. Unfortunately nothing stuck. One of my moments was when I hit double digit size pants. I remember thinking ” I’m a size 10?!? Ok I’m going to lose weight and never be a double digit again!” (Now at a size 16, I would love to be a size 10…) I remember the day I got on the scale and weighed over 200 lbs. I remember the feeling of “What have I done to myself? How did I let this happen?”
So I guess this is the beginning of my journey. Going from fat to fit. (I cringe at the word fat, but it is the right word to use).
I found a “Couch to 5k” and I’m starting that. If you haven’t heard of it, look it up. It is a great way for people like me (who can’t run and don’t run) to prepare for a 5k. In 10 weeks, I should be able to run 3.1 miles! I’m also trying to make good eating decisions. Lots of salads, veggies, fruit, and less processed foods and junk.
I guess I’m not sure if anyone will actually read this blog. If it helps one person like me, then great success. If it only helps me, I’m cool with that too…
